Shasta Hurst
Shasta Hurst found her interest in special education when she first started volunteering for the Special Olympics back in 2006. She received her bachelor’s degree in the Science of Education in 2017 from Grand Canyon University and her two master’s degrees in Special Education in 2019 and Educational Administration in 2022 from Grand Canyon University.
Shasta’s love and enthusiasm for teaching comes from her early days as a paraprofessional for a private day school. Since then, Shasta has had the pleasure of working with students on the spectrum over the past 10 years, in a variety of different positions from; paraprofessional, behavioral technician, special education teacher, and special education elementary coordinator. When Shasta isn’t in the classroom you can find her and her family (husband and 2 daughters) camping or fishing.
